Rosa Boshier González will write a series of essays examining how two generations of artists from Colombia and its diaspora have engaged the body’s viscera. Unstitching the mouths of their forebears from the anesthetic operations of abstraction, these artists’ work interrogates the material violence of Colombia’s ongoing civil war.
Rosa Boshier González’s writing has appeared in publications including Artforum, Catapult, The Guardian, Guernica, Hyperallergic, Joyland, Literary Hub, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the New York Times, Ploughshares, The Rumpus, and the Washington Post.
