T. Lax’s A Diary of Dependency: Artists Process Museums will be an experimental book of art criticism and collective biography. It will describe five projects that rely on crip theory, Black studies, and queer motherhood to challenge art’s values during a time of social transformation.
T. Lax is a writer and curator who works closely with living artists and other collaborators. His writing has appeared in publications including Artforum, The Nation, October, T Magazine, and Vanity Fair. As curator of media and performance at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Lax has co-organized exhibitions including Just Above Midtown: Changing Spaces (2022–23) and Judson Dance Theater: The Work is Never Done (2018–19).
