Circulation Exchange features short critical essays on contemporary art involving the intersection of photography and social media. The blog seeks to gather and interpret the work of artists who are engaged in innovative ways with the new photographic world that is substantially mediated through social media platforms, and to offer a window into this world of artistic practice in a forum engaging and accessible to both specialists and an interested public.
Kate Palmer Albers’s book Uncertain Histories: Accumulation, Inaccessibility, and Doubt in Contemporary Photography is forthcoming from the University of California Press. Her curatorial background includes positions in the photography departments at the Fogg Art Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is an assistant professor at the University of Arizona, where she teaches history and theory of photography, museum studies, and contemporary art.
